These modifications are available for multi cannons:
- High Capacity
+ More damage
+ Less power draw
+ Less distributor draw
+ Less heat creation
Efficient multi cannons are boosted in damage per second by up to 24% with no drawbacks involved.
They're energy efficient regarding power consumption with up to 48% less power draw.
Their heat dissipation puts a lot of relief on the power distributor with up to 45% less strain on the distributor.
Their heat creation goes down up to 60%.
Efficient modification is the way to go on ships with heat problems or in case you don't have a real idea about what you wish to do with your multi cannons.
It can be the "grain of salt" in efficiency when using a ship with an undersized power distributor like the Fer de Lance or the Imperial Cutter, both suffering from crippled distributors. (Okay, both would be unbeatable with larger distributors, so...)

This modification does indeed have some drawbacks. A minor increase in power consumption of up to +20% and a higher mass of up to 60% more.
Its benefits outweigh these by far, though. Total ammo capacity and clip size are increased up to 100% and as a bonus the weapon gains up to 10% more damage capacity.
High Capacity is the modification of choice for multi cannons that are used for prolonged 'marking' of an enemy or when using the ammo reducing 'corrosive' modification. By not increasing ammo capacity these weapons are often emptied before shields are down, which is not very useful.

The modification of choice for very light weight ships like armed exploration vessels or shield generator equipped traders.
A decrease of up to 30% of integrity comes with up to 45% mass decrease and less power consumption of up to 10% and less distributor draw of up to 20%.
Do not use the lightweight modification on ships without a shield generator. The decreased integrity will make the weapons fail early in the fight after catching the first 'few bullets'.
